Lee, I really was looking at doing one of your plotty prompts -- or rather something based on elements from both your long plotty promtps -- but the Semester from HELL (TM) was busy having its way with me and I had to fall back to something shorter and a bit simpler, figuring that you would rather have a short but intense (and hopefully well-crafted) story rather than long but half-assed one. I hope I was right. ;-) I have to admit I wasn't entirely happy with the last bit -- possibly due to conflicting school deadlines and me pulling 2 all-nighters in a row while finishing this -- so it's been just slightly reworked -- maybe 'retouched' is a better word -- with the result being, uhm, slightly more smex. Or rather, slightly more graphic smex. (Don't ask how these things happen. They just do.)
Story Notes: I think I've decided to post some meta on this story as well -- at least a third of which will probably be bitching about a certain 'makes absolutely NO fucking sense!' canon decision by JKR which resulted in way too much hair-pulling and teeth-gnashing on my part -- but I'll do that in a separate post due to possible spoilers. I might even dig around on the 'cutting room floor' file and toss out a couple of deleted scenes; and maybe even include a contest poll for "Why was this scene deleted?" (including the option "Because it sucks, duh!") Hmm.... ticky box meta. That could be weird. And maybe fun. We shall see.

Yeah, I know, I mostly do fics in the HP-verse, but I got sucked into this manga/anime which is frighteningly good (there's actual character development, the bastards). And which ship do I like? The one that might as well be Sirius/Severus: Ishida ("I-hate-everyone-fuck-off-and-die!") and Renji (boisterous, uncouth, dog-like). Honest, you don't even have to squint real hard to see it. But anyway, if you're not into Bleach (and I know most of you aren't), just pass on by.

Story Notes: I mostly write in the Harry Potter arena, but since the evil [info]rabid_fangrrl turned me onto Bleach, I promised her a naughty Bleach-fic for her birthday. Therefore, this is my first. I still haven’t read all the manga or seen all the episodes, so I hope the boys aren’t too OOC. Renji’s voice and characterization in this owes a lot to [info]debbiechan's wonderful fic ‘Satisfaction’, mainly because I think that’s exactly how Renji sounds/talks/thinks, and since this is my first Bleach-fic, I haven’t quite got a handle on the characterizations, sooo… consider it flattery. Oh, and I know even less about Japan than about Bleach, so please feel free to let me know if there are glaring cultural errors. Feedback & concrit also cheerfully absorbed. RFG, I hope you enjoy this. I know you waited long enough. ;-)

Author’s Notes:  This is a sequel to Childish Things, an exchange piece originally posted on [info]bottomsnape.  I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary for you to read CH first, but it would definitely help.  Also, while it is not necessary for you to have read On the Taming of Wild Creatures, the events that take place in both this and CH occur after Wild Creatures.  (Remember me talking about that Big Ass Snack Story-arc?  Well, this is it.  And you're in the middle of it.)  Beta-read by the wonderful and long-suffering [info]nishizono, [info]r_grayjoy and [info]imkalena; why they put up with me I don’t know, but I’m glad they do.  My stories are always better for their involvement.
